**Ford Unveils “Power Promise” Program to Boost Electric Vehicle Sales**
In a bid to alleviate consumer concerns and drive sales of its electric vehicles, Ford Motor has launched the “Ford Power Promise” program. The initiative, which begins today, offers a range of benefits to customers who purchase or lease a new Ford EV, such as the F-150 Lightning pickup truck or Mustang Mach-E crossover.
At the heart of the program is the provision of free home-charging installation, worth $1,310, to help alleviate the financial burden of EV ownership. Additionally, customers will receive complimentary 24-hour advisor service and roadside assistance for five years or 60,000 miles, whichever comes first.
The program is designed to address “change anxiety,” a phenomenon where potential buyers are hesitant to switch from traditional gas-powered vehicles to electric ones due to concerns about charging infrastructure, battery durability, and other factors. By providing education and support, Ford aims to build confidence among customers and encourage more people to make the transition to EVs.
“We’re trying to grow our business, but the best way we can do that is by serving our customers well,” said Marin Gjaja, chief operating officer for Ford’s Model e EV business. “Filling up at home is really key, but so is confidence in the durability and life of the battery.”
The “Ford Power Promise” program also includes a $2,000 cash equivalent for customers who opt out of the home charger installation or don’t need one. Furthermore, current Ford EV owners will be eligible for the advisor and roadside assistance services.
Ford’s move comes as the electric vehicle market faces slower-than-expected growth, with many consumers citing high costs, limited charging infrastructure, and range anxiety as major barriers to adoption. By addressing these concerns, Ford hopes to drive sales and establish itself as a leader in the EV market.
