**Tech Mogul’s Fortune Soars: Zuckerberg Overtakes Bezos as World’s Second Richest Person**

In a remarkable turn of events, Mark Zuckerberg, co-founder and CEO of Meta, has surpassed Jeff Bezos, former Amazon CEO, to become the world’s second richest person. According to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, Zuckerberg’s net worth has reached a staggering $206.2 billion, eclipsing Bezos’ $205.1 billion.

This significant leap can be attributed to Meta’s impressive stock performance, which has seen a 68% increase since early January, closing at a record high of $582.77 on Thursday. Zuckerberg’s 13% stake in Meta has contributed to his net worth growing by a whopping $78 billion since the beginning of the year, outpacing any other member of the top 500 richest individuals tracked by the Bloomberg Index.

The social media giant’s success can be attributed to its consistent quarterly earnings, which have exceeded analyst estimates, and its strategic investments in artificial intelligence. Meta’s online advertising platform has seen significant improvements, driving sales growth and offsetting the impact of Apple’s 2021 iOS privacy update.

Despite the company’s significant investments in virtual and augmented reality technologies, investors have become more tolerant of these expenditures as long as the core ad business remains healthy. The recent debut of Meta’s Orion AR glasses has garnered positive reviews, further boosting investor confidence.

As Zuckerberg’s fortune continues to rise, he now trails only Tesla CEO Elon Musk, who remains the world’s richest person with a net worth of over $256 billion.
