Billionaire Showdown: Mark Cuban Takes Aim at Elon Musk’s Pro-Trump Efforts
In a recent interview, billionaire investor and former “Shark Tank” host Mark Cuban took a swipe at Elon Musk’s efforts to support Donald Trump’s presidential campaign. Cuban argued that Musk’s promise to give $1 million per day to registered voters who sign a petition for his America PAC is “innovative” but also “desperate.”
A New Kind of Campaigning
Cuban’s remarks highlight the increasingly prominent role that billionaires are playing in the 2024 presidential election. Musk, the world’s richest man, has emerged as one of Trump’s most prominent surrogates, leading get-out-the-vote efforts in key swing states and donating tens of millions of dollars to pro-Trump super PACs.

Cuban, on the other hand, is advocating for Democratic nominee Kamala Harris as the pro-business choice. He argues that Harris has promised not to raise taxes on Americans making $400,000 a year or less, which covers most small-business owners. Additionally, Harris’ focus on lowering health care and pharmaceutical prices could offset inflation for households and small businesses.

Cuban’s support for Harris is based on several key factors. He points to her approach to addressing illegal immigration, which he believes would be better for businesses than Trump’s mass-deportation plan. Cuban also criticizes Trump’s vow to use sweeping tariffs as a main tool of both his economic and foreign policy, calling it “insane.”
A Desperate Measure?
