Electric Vehicle Revolution: Hyundai Unveils the 2026 Ioniq 9 SUV
The electric vehicle (EV) landscape is about to get a significant boost with the introduction of Hyundai’s newest all-electric vehicle, the 2026 Ioniq 9 SUV. This three-row, up to seven-passenger SUV is set to arrive in U.S. dealerships in the spring and marks Hyundai’s largest EV entry to date.
Impressive Performance and Range
The Ioniq 9 boasts impressive performance and range capabilities. With fast charging, it can go from 10% to 80% in just 24 minutes. Additionally, it has an estimated range of 335 miles on a single charge and can accelerate from 0 to 60 miles per hour in as fast as 4.9 seconds.
Design and Features
The Ioniq 9 features a distinct exterior design that sets it apart from its smaller Hyundai EV siblings and the Kia EV9, which shares the same vehicle platform. While pricing details are still under wraps, the Kia EV9 currently starts at around $55,000, giving us an idea of what to expect.
Hyundai’s Commitment to EVs
Despite slower-than-expected adoption of EVs, Hyundai remains committed to its goal of offering a full range of EVs for the U.S. market. By 2030, the company plans to have a portfolio of 23 EV models. Hyundai, including Kia, has already made significant strides, selling the second-highest volume of EVs in the U.S. through the third quarter of this year, just behind Tesla.
Global Rollout
The Ioniq 9 is expected to go on sale in Korea and the U.S. in the first half of 2025, with a rollout in Europe and other markets planned later. The vehicle will be produced at a new multibillion-dollar plant in Georgia.
