According to NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tisch, investigators want to reach a wider audience beyond New York City to identify the suspect.

Commissioner Tisch revealed that police have gathered a substantial amount of evidence, including forensic clues, fingerprints, DNA evidence, and a massive camera canvas of the gunman’s movements throughout the city. New York’s extensive network of government and private surveillance cameras has proven instrumental in tracking the suspect’s path.

Surveillance Footage Reveals Suspect’s Escape Route

Top NYPD officials disclosed that surveillance footage shows the person of interest riding a bike from the scene of the fatal shooting in midtown Manhattan to Central Park, then exiting the park near West 77th Street. The suspect was later seen walking at West 86th Street and Columbus Avenue before entering a taxi cab, which drove him to the Port Authority Bus Terminal in Washington Heights.

Interstate Bus Connection: Suspect May Have Left New York City

Police believe the suspect may have boarded an interstate bus at the Port Authority Bus Terminal, which could have taken him out of New York City. Chief of Detectives Joseph Kenny explained that while they have video of the suspect entering the terminal, they don’t have footage of him exiting, leading them to suspect he may have gotten on a bus.

Atlanta Connection: Suspect Traveled to Manhattan on Greyhound Bus

Law enforcement sources revealed that the unidentified suspect traveled from Atlanta on a Greyhound bus that arrived in Manhattan on November 24, two days before UnitedHealth Group announced its investor day. Thompson was shot as he was about to walk into the Hilton Hotel in midtown, where the event was being held.

Investigation Ongoing: Police Seek Public’s Help

As the manhunt continues, police are urging the public to come forward with any information that might lead to the suspect’s capture. With the release of the photos, authorities hope to receive tips that will help them track down the person of interest and bring justice to the family of Brian Thompson.
