T-Mobile Boosts Ad Power with $600M Deal

T-Mobile Expands Advertising Reach with $600 Million Acquisition

Strengthening its Advertising Business

In a significant move to bolster its advertising capabilities, T-Mobile US has agreed to acquire Vistar Media, a leading provider of real-time outdoor advertising technology, for approximately $600 million in an all-cash deal. This strategic acquisition will enable T-Mobile to tap into the rapidly growing digital out-of-home (DOOH) advertising market, which is expected to account for 42% of total out-of-home (OOH) revenue by 2025, according to GroupM, a media investment firm.

Capitalizing on the Shift to Digital Screens

As brands increasingly transition from traditional static billboards to more engaging and creative digital screens, T-Mobile’s acquisition of Vistar Media will provide a significant foothold in the DOOH market. With this deal, T-Mobile will gain access to Vistar Media’s comprehensive marketplace and technology solutions, enabling advertisers to easily buy, sell, and manage media campaigns across 1.1 million digital screens provided by OOH media houses and brand advertisers.

Unlocking New Opportunities for Advertisers

By combining T-Mobile’s customer-centric approach and its expertise as one of the nation’s most scaled marketers with Vistar Media’s leading out-of-home technology, advertisers will be able to target their audiences more effectively. “This acquisition underscores the strength of the OOH channel and demonstrates T-Mobile’s commitment to providing innovative advertising solutions,” said Michael Provenzano, CEO of Vistar Media. JP Colaco, chief T-Ads officer of T-Mobile, added, “With Vistar Media’s technology, advertisers can now easily place their ads where they know their audience will be, ensuring maximum impact and ROI.”

Transaction Details

The transaction is expected to close in the first quarter of 2025, pending regulatory approvals. Once complete, T-Mobile will acquire all of Vistar Media’s marketplace and technology solutions, further solidifying its position in the advertising industry.
