Rising Star in the Smartphone Industry
A New Challenger Emerges
London-based startup Nothing, backed by Google’s venture arm and iPod creator Tony Fadell, is making waves in the smartphone industry. With a unique design featuring a transparent back, Nothing’s devices have gained a loyal following among tech enthusiasts.
Funding Round Underway
According to sources, Nothing is seeking to raise at least $100 million in funding to expand its operations. This Series C round, which kicked off recently, will help the company take its business to the next level. This is not the first time Nothing has raised significant funds; in 2023, it secured around $100 million in investment.
A Strong Track Record
Nothing’s success is evident in its financial performance. In 2024, the company doubled its annual revenue to over $500 million, crossing the $1 billion mark in lifetime sales. Its margins have also improved significantly, with 7 million units sold across all product categories to date.
Global Expansion
While Nothing devices are available in the US, the company’s primary focus is on overseas markets. India, Germany, and the UK are its top markets, with the US being the largest market for its audio gear. However, Nothing plans to make a bigger push into the American market in 2026.
Innovation and Growth
The company is committed to innovation, with plans to overhaul its software to incorporate more artificial intelligence features. This enhancement is set to launch in the first half of the year. Additionally, Nothing is exploring expansion into new product categories, further solidifying its position in the industry.
Manufacturing and Operations
With around 600 employees, Nothing manufactures devices in China and India. Its devices run on the Android operating system, like most non-Apple smartphones. As the company continues to grow, it’s likely to become a significant player in the global smartphone market.
