As the devastating wildfires continue to ravage Los Angeles, claiming lives and destroying homes, the business community is stepping up to provide critical support. In a remarkable display of solidarity, companies from various industries are pledging millions of dollars to aid in relief efforts.
Media Giants Lead the Charge
Netflix and Comcast have taken the lead, each committing $10 million to organizations such as the Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation, World Central Kitchen, and the American Red Cross. Both companies are also providing direct assistance to employees affected by the fires. Netflix co-CEO Ted Sarandos emphasized the importance of perseverance, stating, “The next few years will be a rebuilding time for many of us… and we will come back stronger than before.”
A Wave of Support from Across Industries
The Walt Disney Company has pledged $15 million to fire response and rebuilding efforts, while Fox Corporation has donated $1 million to the American Red Cross. FanDuel and its parent company, Flutter Entertainment, have contributed $250,000 to disaster relief organization Americares and the LA Fire Department Foundation.

The NFL, which relocated a playoff game due to the fires, has announced a collective $5 million donation from its teams and ownership groups. Twelve Los Angeles sports teams, including the Lakers and the Dodgers, have separately pledged over $8 million to fire relief groups. Kroger and Walmart have pledged $1 million and $2.5 million, respectively, toward relief efforts. JPMorgan Chase and Bank of America are offering payment relief to mortgage customers affected by the wildfires.
Hollywood Stars Shine a Light on Relief Efforts
Actor Jamie Lee Curtis has pledged $1 million to relief funds, while singer Beyoncé’s BeyGood Foundation has committed $2.5 million to its own fire relief fund. Socialite Paris Hilton has launched an emergency fund to assist displaced families, contributing $200,000 to the cause. Actor Halle Berry has donated clothes to victims of the fires.
