Sales Soar as Cadillac Expands EV Lineup
Cadillac’s electric vehicle sales are on a roll, with the brand poised to become the top-selling luxury EV brand in the US this year. According to John Roth, vice president of global Cadillac, this projection is fueled by the growing popularity of the Lyriq midsize crossover and the upcoming launch of three new EVs: the compact Optiq, the three-row Vistiq, and the Escalade IQ large SUV.
Lyriq Leads the Charge
The Lyriq has been a game-changer for Cadillac, with sales more than tripling in the US last year to 28,402. Roth attributes this success to the vehicle’s ability to meet customer expectations, stating, “Lyriq is doing what we expected it to do.” The brand’s focus on luxury EVs has also led to a conquest rate of 76 percent, with over half of those buyers new to General Motors.
A Diverse Portfolio of Luxury EVs
Cadillac is committed to offering a range of EVs to cater to different segments and price points. The Optiq, set to start deliveries this month, will be priced around $50,000, while the Escalade IQ will top out at $150,000. Jack Weidinger, chairman of the Cadillac National Dealer Council, believes this diverse portfolio will attract buyers, saying, “I think that buyers are going to flock to them.”
The Celestiq: A New Level of Luxury
Cadillac’s ultraluxury electric sedan, the Celestiq, is set to redefine the luxury EV experience. With a starting price of $340,000 before customization, the hand-built Celestiq offers buyers a unique opportunity to personalize their vehicle. Roth emphasizes that the Celestiq represents a new level of client interaction, stating, “This is our opportunity to make sure that we give the right client and customer experience.”
Dealer Training and Support
To ensure a seamless customer experience, Cadillac is holding in-person training sessions for dealership employees starting this month in Las Vegas. This training will equip sales staff with the knowledge and skills needed to present the expanded lineup to customers effectively.

With its expanding EV lineup and focus on luxury, Cadillac is poised to dominate the US luxury EV market. As Roth notes, “The upside is just tremendous for the brand.” With its sights set on becoming the top-selling luxury EV brand, Cadillac is revolutionizing the electric vehicle landscape.
